a vision for this space has been a long time coming! as an AZ native, my kids are 5th generation to live in our humboldt home. i am passionate about food, all things local and entertaining. i have the burning desire to create and share and make my little community better. i was born into a family of foodies. and i co-owned a busy mobile pizza oven in idaho where we learned a few hard, fast lessons in business while having the time of our lives creating beautiful food and entertaining. all while working in a from-scratch bakery that instilled the importance of using quality ingredients and sourcing local (and the importance of air conditioning in the kitchen!!).
my family engrained in me from a young age the values of hard work and integrity and i am committed to providing accessibility to quality, fair traded, locally roasted coffee and just plain ol' good, hearty food. we have partnered with freeform coffee roasters out of sedona (daniel and monica are two of the nicest humans on the planet), and a few other local farmers and producers (sunrise farm creations- mayer/corvis distributing- prescott valley/maya tea's- tucson/boar’s head meats from pinnacle deli provisions- prescott valley… to name a few) to serve you the best coffee, sandwiches, salads and goodies this side of prescott.
i hope this space becomes a hub for creativity and love... why “modern” coffee & deli? glad you asked. my mom picked it! and i loved the sentiment of modernity. i love the idea of upping the bar, so to speak, of the area with a modern space that uses modern systems to serve timeless recipes. picture the old world delis, with pork hanging from the rafters. where you could actually taste the freshness of the local food. we’ll give you that old world connection to food with the new world conveniences and feel. order online. drink espresso from the most amazing, up-to-date mavam espresso machine. come work and jump on wifi. all the modern conveniences at your fingertips without losing the important values of the past.

Our coffee is roasted locally in Sedona by FreeForm Coffee Roasters. You can check out their website for helpful information and take a quiz to find the best beans for your taste. Our food is made using fresh, local ingredients. Our popular dishes include a chorizo breakfast burrito bowl, a breakfast bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese, and our homemade coffee cake. For lunch, we offer 2-3 sandwich options made with Boar's Head meats and cheeses, Noble Bread (from Phoenix, AZ), and fresh vegetables. We also offer made-to-order sandwiches (see below) allowing you to customize your sandwich with the same great ingredients! Our baked goods, like cookies and muffins, are either made in-house or sourced from Noble Bread and change with the seasons. In our drinks, we handpick quality ingredients from Monin and Torani Puremade and Rishi Tea. We have plenty of sugar-free options and alternative milks available.
